NewZapp has been supporting businesses with their communication needs for over two decades. Here’s an overview of the journey we’ve taken to date.

The beginnings

Destinet Limited (NewZapp's owner) began after our Managing Director decided to bring his web solutions ideas to life whilst a student at the University of Plymouth. In the same year: Google was officially launched and Europeans agreed on a single currency - the Euro.


NewZapp was born

We released a full email marketing platform called NewZapp and moved to larger offices to support our growth. In the same year: Wikipedia started and the first Apple store opens in the US.


Email tracking arrives

NewZapp 3.0 launched becoming the first email marketing system to include real-time tracking of emails. In the same year: Gmail and Facebook was launched and Strictly Come Dancing first hit our TV screens.


The growth continues

NewZapp achieves sales growth of over 200% as UK businesses increasingly switch from US to UK Email Service Providers (ESPs). In the same year: Twitter was launched and Dancing on Ice first aired.


10 year birthday

On the year we celebrated 10 years' of business we introduced loads of new features to NewZapp including Google Analytics integration and a spam checker. In the same year: The Bitcoin network began and Avatar became the highest grossing film (and still holds that title today).


Major software update

NewZapp 5.0 introduced a brand new Create & Send editor with a huge amount of additional functionality. In the same year: Emojis became mainstream and Prince William and Kate Middleton married.


Editing became easier

NewZapp 6.0 made email editing even easier with drag 'n' drop features. We also start to see more and more of our customers using NewZapp for their internal communications. In the same year: The Apple Watch launched, NASA finds flowing water on Mars and the Queen became the longest reigning British monarch.


The power of automation

We introduced Automation, enabling customers to automatically send emails based on the behaviours of their contacts. In the same year: Tesla launched the Model 3 and England won the World Cup.


NewZapp launch an employee engagement app called VRAMP to help engage with hard-to-reach employees. In the same year: Google shuts down Google+ and Boris Johnson becomes Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.


We developed an NHS-specific internal comms solution called NewZapp Trusted Delivery. Within 3 months of launching the product we had helped communicators reach nearly 50,000 NHS employees. In the same year: Donald Trump was banned from Twitter and Cornwall host the G7 Summit.


More growth

NewZapp 8.0 launches with yet more user friendly functionality and our customer base continues to grow with over 50% of new business coming from word of mouth. In the same year: England win the UEFA Women's Euros and the Queen dies aged 96.
