Three ideas for your next campaign
This is a descriptive snapshot, not a target or a prediction. Compare similar audiences, campaign purposes and metric definitions. Open tracking can be affected by privacy features; automated activity can affect clicks. A lower rate is a prompt to investigate, not proof that a campaign failed.

A SNAPSHOT. NOT THE WHOLE PICTURE.
Useful context.
Honest comparisons.
Based on campaigns sent through NewZapp in 2026. This represents a small snapshot of our sending, rather than every organisation in your sector.
Read the source report ↗Where do the figures come from?
NewZapp’s 2026 Industry Benchmarking Snapshot covers 26.4 million emails and 7,430 campaigns. Its overall averages are 49.36% opens and 11.70% clicks. The source does not specify an exact date range within 2026, sector sample sizes, weighting, or unique-versus-total metric definitions.
Are internal and external rates sector-specific?
No. Industry figures and communications-type figures are separate datasets. We show your sector comparison and, where available, a separate internal or external comparison. We do not combine them into an invented sector-by-purpose benchmark.
What if my industry isn’t listed?
We use the overall snapshot as an explicitly labelled fallback. This is broader context, not an estimate for your industry.
How are the differences calculated?
Your rate minus the reference rate, shown in percentage points. For example, 65% compared with 61.83% is +3.17 percentage points. No percentile rank or performance score is calculated.
What does audience size change?
Nothing in the benchmark calculation. The snapshot has no audience-size breakdown. Smaller audiences can show larger swings from a few responses, so consider several comparable campaigns.
